Wanting to get "toned"? I've talked a little about this before. Girls...the fastest way for you to get "toned" is to start lifting like FIT CHICK! Non of this silly body weight donkey kicks and treadmill walking.

The common reaction is "oh but I don't want to get too muscley" well the truth is you won't wake up tomorrow morning and be "too muscley" it's takes years of training and proper nutrition to achieve a fit muscly physique.

You want "tone" then you have to BUILD MUSCLE! Get yourself into a proper split program that suits your specific goals and you'll start to see yourself getting firmer. Getting "firmer" is going to happened  long before you get "too muscley" so once you hit you goal it's simply maintaining!

My training has changed dramatically over the years. My initial phase of building my base body was a hypertrophy split (muscle building) program. Once I reached my ideal base I've switched between strength, power, plyometrics and high intensity training to maintain and get variety in my training. Of course there are always things we want to improve on aesthetically, but for me it's now mostly about improving on my mental strength, cardiovascular fitness, and body weight strength/performance.
