Top 5 Morning Meals To Kick Start Your Day

Too many people that I come across skip breakfast in the morning because “they aren’t hungry.”

Why is Breakfast so important?

Breakfast is not only my FAV meal of the day but it is super important! Breakfast breaks your overnight fasting period. When you wake up in the morning, your Glycogen stores are low; these need to be topped up in order to boost your energy and metabolism for the day. What can happen if you skip breakfast? You may experience fatigue, poor mental performance, and cravings and/or be more likely the binge eat later in the day.

Below are 5 of my favorite breakfast. Sleep-ins, 4am starts, or lazy mornings…whatever it is…breakfast is a MUST!

  1. My “ ready to start a busy day” breakfast

OAT BOWL

  • 40-50g oats
  • Banana slices
  • Unsweetened almond milk
  • Cinnamon
  • Natural honey
  • (Sometimes) add some protein powder
  1. My “ not feeling oats today ” breakfast

WEETBIX

  • Weetbix
  • Fresh strawberries
  • Honey
  • Almond milk
  1. My” sleep in treat” breakfast

 

PROTEIN PANCAKE

  • 1 egg
  • 30-50g oats
  • Almond milk
  • Protein powder
  • ½ banana

*blended and cooked on the pan ( I never measure I just guess by consistency)

topped with:

  • Mixed berries
  • Honey
  1. My” slept through my alarm running late” breakfast

 

SMOOTHIE

  • Banana
  • Oats
  • Almond milk
  • Honey
  • Natural Peanut Butter
  • Chocolate protein

*Throw into the blended, drink on the way to work

  1. My “ just enough time to make eggs ” breakfast

EGGS

  • 2-3 eggs
  • ¼ avocado
  • Sourdough with vegemite
